Music

So what will we sing?

Popular Classics

If you enjoy the popular classics that you might hear on Classic FM (other channels are available..) then you will enjoy the music that we'll be singing at Stevenage Singers.

We aim to practice and perform pieces that are recognisable and enjoyable. We cover classical and theatre pieces in 4 part harmonies. We take our learning at a comfortable pace and Rachael, our conductor will go through sections until we are all happy and sounding great together.

There are details in our Members Area of the learning resources available for the Spring term.

Don’t worry if you are not sure which of the 4 parts your voice will suit, we’ll be happy to help you. Just pop along to a rehearsal or register for a free trial.

The music we are singing this term is:

  • Gilbert and Sullivan choruses

There’s a large number of different  Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas amongst which are well known works such as Iolanthe, The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance and we’ll be singing a selection of pieces from many of these in our Spring Concert.
